In addition, we also publish the works of Agatha Christie, JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis.

Our Rights team are looking for an enthusiastic Rights Intern to join them for a 1 month long internship, with the possibility of it being extended to a 6 month long internship.


  • Submit material to newspapers, scouts, subagents, sister companies and foreign publishers
  • Send author copies to authors and their agents
  • Ensure that submissions and rights sold are entered on the database(s)
  • Draft foreign rights contracts and follow-up until signature stage
  • Deal with rights queries on an ad hoc basis
  • Help with the preparation of Book Fairs and Rights Guides
  • Archive author copies and contracts
  • Liaise with editors and Production on an ad hoc basis

  • Ability to communicate confidently at all levels, both in writing and verbally
  • Usual computer skills: Fast, accurate typing, Word and Excel

We're based in the News Building which we share with our News UK and Dow Jones colleagues in the newly-established London Bridge Quarter, opposite the famous Borough Market. Our new open-plan office has amazing views across London, and includes a variety of break-out areas to aid inspiration and a collaborative approach, a multi-media suite, and a fabulous canteen floor and book shop.
