We have two positions for the Production Assistant role. One of them will sit with Collins Learning and the other one with HarperFiction. From costing titles and selecting a printer through to placing purchase orders and chasing deliveries into stock, you would be responsible for making sure front list and reprints come in on time, within budget and to the right quality.


  • Cost new titles for acquisition, checking P&Ls before circulation
  • Place titles at printers to meet schedules and ensure bound stock dates are met
  • Check colour proofs where necessary and make sure printing matches the proof
  • Check plotter proofs
  • Pre-flight check new titles when sending to press
  • Assist other controllers and Production Director depending on workload and departmental needs
  • Ensure all titles are archived on our DAM, including PDF files, application files and images
  • Maintain version control
