Our Commercial Finance team in 4th Estate & William Collins are looking for a Junior Commercial Analyst to join their team. The successful candidate would be a key member of the Commercial Finance team, working to complete forecasts and budgets, acquisition process, month end financial reporting requirements and various other commercial and strategic support.


  • Assisting the budgeting and forecasting process on a quarterly basis
  • Ensuring that the timing and phasing of future releases are accurately reflected in the budget and forecast
  • Perform initial reviews of draft P&Ls & related work for completeness & accuracy
  • Work with other areas of the business
  • Produce budget/forecast packs to deadline for the business
  • Review and report on previous published book performance
  • Preparation of investment cases for new acquisitions liaising with key departments to gain the relevant information
  • Assist in month end analysis of actual performance of the division
  • To assist the Commercial Manager when required to provide the division with financial information to assist with further commercial decisions

Key Skills/Experience

  • Relevant Degree 2.1 or equivalent
  • Interest in studying for ACCA/CIMA accounting qualification
  • Numerate and strong on detail
  • Mature and organised approach, able to take initiative
  • Excellent administrator
  • Able to communicate financial information to non-financial people within the business
  • Advanced Excel skills desirable
  • Flexible approach to work
  • High level of attention to detail & positive approach to problem solving
  • Take ownership of work, strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Passionate and motivated to succeed
