An iconic brand, with an exciting future, Mills & Boon is looking for a creative, focussed and sales-driven Digital Marketing Executive to join our hard-working, book-loving team for a maternity cover. Mills & Boon, an imprint of HarperCollins, is the number one romance publisher in the UK, publishing more than 100 romance titles every month. Mills & Boon books are available in online and offline retail channels, and direct to consumer through our BookClub and on our website We have highly engaged reader communities across our social media channels, blog and newsletter programme.


  • Create, execute and monitor marketing activity to achieve web sales in line with targets
  • Update and audit content, keeping the site fresh, accessible and appealing to readers
  • Brief creative treatments for website and digital marketing activity (banners, social ads, web ads)
  • Respond to bugs / troubleshooting in a timely and efficient way
  • Account management and key contact for our current web agency and SEO Agency
  • Thorough quality assurance and testing on all platforms and browsers
  • Support the Marketing Manager to deliver new initiatives and web development projects
  • Brief campaigns, ensure activity runs on time and to budget, feedback results and make recommendations in conjunction with the Marketing Manager
  • Testing new revenue streams
  • Manage PPC campaigns
  • Metadata keyword work across new titles and promotional activities
  • Manage monthly eCRM programme to drive revenue and achieve web sales in line with targets
  • Write copy, brief creative, and plan monthly programme of emails to newsletter subscriber lists
  • Testing offers, segmentation, analysis and results feedback
  • Analytics and feedback to team on CRM activity, in conjunction with the Marketing Analyst
  • Work with external agencies to create, execute and monitor digital marketing campaigns across social media
  • Manage 'Mills & Boon Insiders' bloggers' programme
  • Act as main point of contact for Customer Services team
  • Look for new revenue streams, partnerships and digital opportunities for Mills & Boon

Key Skills/Experience

  • Knowledge of the publishing or media industries
  • CRM experience and knowledge of systems
  • Working knowledge of HTML
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Experienced in managing social media accounts, including knowledge of Hootsuite as well as Facebook, Twitter, Google and Instagram analytics
  • SEO, PPC experience
  • Working knowledge Canva or Photoshop desirable
  • Outstanding attention to detail and time management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple campaigns and tasks at one time
  • A quick learner
  • Team player but also able to act independently
  • Excellent communication and people skills

We're based in the News Building which we share with our News UK and Dow Jones colleagues in the newly-established London Bridge Quarter, opposite the famous Borough Market. Our new open-plan office has amazing views across London, and includes a variety of break-out areas to aid inspiration and a collaborative approach, a multi-media suite, and a fabulous canteen floor and book shop.
