Our Sales team are looking for a Sales Executive to join the team and support the Key Account Managers and Directors. The role will be responsible for creating presentations, sales kits and reports and provide excellent administrative and sales support to the NonFiction, Fiction and Avon teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone keen to develop their Sales career in publishing.


  • Communicate clearly with sales, publishing, distribution and marketing colleagues to obtain all the information required to service and sell to our customers effectively
  • Answer customer queries quickly and effectively so that they have all the information they require to do business effectively with us
  • Create and organise customer presentations and other one off presentations as necessary
  • Keep complete and effective records of all orders, deals, history and correspondence
  • Generate and managing the purchase ordering system
  • Create and distribute customer sales kits and other customer mailings
  • Support Key Account Managers and Directors
  • Manage the Author Signing process for Fiction & NonFiction, assist other divisions signing sessions as necessary
  • Raise any required marketing PO's
  • Distribute advance samples / proofs
  • Coordinate all general office administration across the department ensuring the smooth management of information and resources

Key Skills/Experience

  • Experience of supporting a busy team

  • Effective team player
  • Experience of systems such as Nielsen, SAP, Salesforce etc desirable
  • Intermediate Excel and Powerpoint
  • Attention to detail
  • Results focused
  • Communication - pro-active, clear and persuasive in written and verbal
  • Passion for publishing
  • Ability to adapt, learn quickly and use initiative

We're based in the News Building which we share with our News UK and Dow Jones colleagues in the newly-established London Bridge Quarter, opposite the famous Borough Market. Our new open-plan office has amazing views across London, and includes a variety of break-out areas to aid inspiration and a collaborative approach, a multi-media suite, and a fabulous canteen floor and book shop.
