With nearly 200 years of history, we publish some of the world's foremost authors, from Nobel prize-winners to worldwide bestsellers. In addition, we also publish the works of Agatha Christie, JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis. Our Sales team are looking for a Partnerships and New Business Manager to be responsible for finding incremental sources of business for existing HC content, bespoke content or custom publishing (both print and digital) through deals with a broad range of customers. The target customer base will include: premium sales to branded partners (CPG, Health, automotive etc.); corporate sales of bespoke editions of HC content (banks, institutions, large corporations); custom publishing for organisations (private members clubs, hedge funds, law firms, consultancies etc.); custom publishing for non-traditional retailers and restaurants. The revenue stream generated should be additive to the existing special sales and business development initiatives already in place within HCUK. This is a 12 month contract. Responsibilities
  • In conjunction with Group Sales Director, agree the strategy and business plan for this area of business
  • Responsible for delivering agreed targets and budgets
  • Work closely with Custom Publishing team to develop bespoke publishing solutions
  • Develop database of key leads and insight into key potential partners across
  • Proactively source new business opportunities based on the above customer criteria and prioritise leads based on a understanding of where most relevant / high value leads are for HCUK
  • Work effectively in a matrix structure to coordinate with Non Trade / Specials team across HC to share leads and build production runs where relevant
  • Produce and keep up to date a HC credentials presentation to use to pitch to potential clients
  • Work closely with SVP Special Markets in the US Andrea Rosen to share best practice and potential leads and possible global opportunities
  • To utilise the contacts and network available through the wider NewsCorp organisation to open up opportunities
  • Ensure close working relationship with contracts, legal, production and custom publishing to ensure there is sufficient resource to meet deal pipeline
  • Communicate across divisions on trends, opportunities and successes
  • Help develop an internal culture of lead development / idea generation across the whole of HC business
    • Corporate sales - modified / exclusive editions of content
    • Corporate sales - custom bespoke published content
    • Branded partnership premium sales to branded partners
    • Non-traditional book retailers - custom / bespoke publishing
