We're looking for an Open Market Sales Executive to join and provide sales support to the open market sales team, to be a supporting contact for customers, manage accounts and sales budgets to selected markets. Regions include Europe, Middle East, Africa, Latin America & Caribbean and Asia. The role will cover our very successful Children's, Fiction, Non Fiction, William Collins & 4th Estate and Harlequin divisions. Regions covered for account and sales management are Africa, Pakistan and areas of Eastern Europe. This is a 9 month fixed term contract based in the office.


  • General sales administration including answering customer queries such as providing book information and liaising with Customer Services
  • Work with Open Market Marketing & Communications Manager to put together sales catalogues
  • Provide support for Sales Managers when they are away from the office, be the second point for customer contact
  • Work with each divisional contact to allocate and send marketing materials to customers including proofs, point of sale material, giveaways etc.
  • Supporting Open Market Marketing Communications Manager with payment of marketing spend (E-procurement)
  • Schools and Libraries catalogue maintenance
  • Help with preparations for London Book Fair and Frankfurt Book fair
  • Provide internal feedback about the Open Markets through a team newsletter

We're based in the News Building which we share with our News UK and Dow Jones colleagues in the newly-established London Bridge Quarter, opposite the famous Borough Market. Our new open-plan office has amazing views across London, and includes a variety of break-out areas to aid inspiration and a collaborative approach, a multi-media suite, and a fabulous canteen floor and book shop.
